Angels outfielder Jo Adell blasted the field conditions at Daikin Park home of the Astros after one of his teammates was injured trying to make a play in the field. Taylor Ward was playing left field for the Angels on Sunday when he attempted a catch on a ball hit in the eighth inning by Astros infielder Ramn Uras, which resulted in Ward crashing into a metal out-of-town scoreboard that sits in left field. Hes being aggre sive on a play, Adell said, At the bottom line, and Ive talked about this before, but there should be no out-of-town metal scoreboard anywhere on the baseball field. Its the big leagues. This st is ridiculous. A guy goes back to make a play, and hes got to worry about a metal fence. Thats crazy. So thats my honest opinion about it. He did everything he could to make a play, and he gets beat up by something thats beyond controllable. Interim manager Ray Montgomery said after the game that Ward was maybe going to the hospital to get some stitches and that he had suffered a cut above his eye.
